Project Description:

Due to influenza’s high mutation rate, vaccines are often inefficient in that they only target one specific strain. My research project focuses on using computational modeling, more specifically, Rosetta, to create a novel protein that contains multiple strains of influenza, designing a more efficient vaccine. The ultimate goal is to write a general protocol that can be applied to any viral glycoprotein, including other influenza strains, Ebola virus, etc.
